Douglas Colt was born on June 28, 1975 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The son of Edward W. Colt, founder of Giuseppe’s Old Depot Restaurant, Douglas Colt was no stranger to earning his keep. At age 11, he started working as a busboy at Giuseppe’s, eventually moving up to cashier, waiter, and eventually manager. These jobs allowed Douglas Colt to pay his way through high school and college. In college, he designed an innovative computer system that is still used to this day to manage Giuseppe’s reservations, call parties when tables are ready, and entertain guests while they wait.

As somewhat of a gawky braniac at Cheyenne Mountain High School, Douglas Colt describes his high school life as, “So many horrible memories and a few really good ones.” He is now a member of the Cheyenne Mountain High School Alumni Association. College at Washington University in Saint Louis, MO marked a far more outgoing period in his life as he became more involved in student government.  By the time he graduated cum laude from law school at Georgetown University, Douglas Colt had come into his own and had become an Editor of the Georgetown Law Journal, apart from earning a place on the Dean’s List, and even finding time to participate in an A Cappella singing group known as “Moral Hazard.” Find out more about Douglas Colt at http://dougcolt.blogspot.com/
